Did anyone see this story about the PS 203 school teacher who indicated on Facebook that she wanted to kill her students?
From the New York Post: “Veteran Brooklyn teacher Christine Rubino is fighting for her career after she vented her frustration with unruly fifth-graders by referring to the shocking death, the day before, of a 12-year-old Harlem school girl who drowned on a class trip to the beach.
“After today, I’m thinking the beach is a good trip for my class. I hate their guts,” Rubino pecked.”
Now, I won’t go into the fact that Christine makes more than $75,000 annually for 10 months of work – not a bad gig for someone making death threats to her “customers”. She was fired, but is now fighting to get her job back!
Wake Up! Threatening to kill your students might just be a sign that you don’t really like your job. And here’s another news flash – there are other jobs!!
I once was laid off from a job that I absolutely hated. I was upset that I had been laid off, and blamed everyone around me for this injustice. But since that day, I have never regretted leaving. In fact, I can’t imagine if I had wasted a single additional day in a job that was sucking the life out of me.
Sure, every job has its positives and negatives. But if you hate your job – really, really hate it, then quit. The change part will work itself out. But you will never get back the days you continue to waste away there.
