There are few things more destructive to a team than a no win manipulator.

To illustrate, I was just watching updates about the uprising in Egypt on Fox News. The announcer said that Obama had intervened directly in the situation, then asked the panel, “So, did Obama do too much, or too little. Lets discuss.” Huh?!. Is there even the remote possibility that Obama actually intervened the correct amount

This occurs in office politics all the time. Is he stupid, or does he just continue to make bad decisions? Beware. Certain people feed on the destruction of others. They move from victim to victim. And they can get very creative about how they stalk their prey – lofting out “no-win” questions rather than directly attacking a co-worker.

I was always keenly on the lookout for these types of activities, and would relentlessly seek to eliminate them. In several cases, this included the removal of specific individuals.

Destructive behavior towards others is a cancer for any team, and must be removed. It diverts attention from external to internal, from the customer to the employee.

If you see it, kill it.
